❄️ The Snow That Listens
A Poem by The Winter Child Poet
some poems come like a breath on a cold window — soft, quiet, and full of meaning
Some poems come quietly, like a breath on a cold morning window — soft, fragile, and full of meaning for the heart that knows how to pause. “The Snow That Listens” is a poem born exactly that way. It arrived gently, as winter often does: with early light brushing the rooftops, with lanterns trembling in the cold, and with that slow, peaceful hush that only children truly hear. This poem is about a winter that doesn’t just fall — it listens. Listens to the hopes we whisper in silence. Listens to the sighs we never say aloud. Listens to the prayers that rise from us without words. For the Winter Child Poet, snow is not simply weather. It is a companion. A keeper of dreams. A soft place where our quiet thoughts go to rest before being lifted again into the morning sky. May this poem bring you stillness today… and the feeling that something gentle — something full of light — is listening to your heart too.❄️ The Poem
❄️ The Snow That Listens by The Winter Child Poet The snow is quiet in the early light, as if it waits for someone’s word; it leans upon the roofs so white like a small prayer that wants to be heard. The lanterns blink with golden care, their halos trembling in the cold; each shimmer seems a whispered prayer from stories winter never told. A little breeze begins to hum, a timid tune of frost and peace; it calls the sparrows, one by one, to nestle near the chapel eaves.
Thank you for stepping into this quiet winter moment with me. May the snow listen to your heart today. Read the full poem and analysis tomorrow 21th: https://alkonda.com/2025/11/21/the-poem-of-the-day-40/
