✨ When the Reindeer Touched the Sky
A soft winter note from The Winter Child Poet
Some winter nights feel almost alive —
as if the sky itself is waiting for something to pass through it.
“When the Reindeer Touched the Sky” is a poem about that kind of night.
It’s not about seeing Santa’s sleigh,
nor about catching a miracle in perfect clarity.
It’s about the small signs,
the tiny moments that make your heart lift for a second
and whisper, “Maybe…”
A single hoofprint in the rooftop snow.
A streak of gold crossing a blue-black sky.
A sound you’re not sure you heard,
but you hope you did.
The Winter Child Poet doesn’t chase magic;
he notices where it might have been.
He listens to the air,
the trees,
the quiet hum that fills a December evening when something gentle is near.
Children at the window know how to see this.
Their eyes stay wide.
Their breathing slows.
They wait not for proof,
but for wonder.
This poem is for anyone who still feels that small tug of belief —
the kind that doesn’t fade with age unless we let it.
Magic doesn’t always arrive boldly.
Sometimes it brushes past the dark,
leaving only a shimmer in its wake.
And that is enough.
