I have little to say of poetry, save this:

The poet is bound by his verse, with only the divine reigning supreme above him!

Night’s Testament — A Poem About Reaching Into the Dark

Night’s Testament — A Poem About Reaching Into the Dark

by Al Konda

There are nights when you speak, and nothing speaks back.

You look at the sky, at the same indifferent stars our ancestors prayed to,

and you know — they will not answer you.

They weren’t made to.

And yet…

You still lift your face toward them.

You still breathe a question into the cold.

You still hope some part of your voice might leave an imprint

on the dark.

That is the kind of night that gave birth to Night’s Testament.

It’s not a poem about despair.

It’s not a poem about being ignored.

It’s a poem about what happens inside us

when we reach for something bigger than we can ever receive.

Because sometimes we don’t speak to be heard.

Sometimes we speak to remember we’re alive.

This poem carries the ache of that realization —

that our words may vanish,

but the act of speaking reshapes us.

It’s about choosing to be the “fool who loves the dark,”

the one who still lights a spark just to see his own breath,

even knowing it might flicker out in a second.

There is honesty in that.

There is courage in that.

There is humanity in that.

We try, even when trying feels pointless.

We reach, even when nothing reaches back.

We weep, not because the world is cruel,

but because something in us has waited too long to feel.

This poem is my testament to those moments —

when silence becomes a teacher,

and the dark becomes a mirror.

If you’ve ever spoken into a night that had no answer,

this one is for you.
