The Real Poetical Life Story

BLOGGER

I have little to say of poetry, save this:

The poet is bound by his verse, with only the divine reigning supreme above him!

Beneath the Ash, the Pulse Remains

Beneath the Ash, the Pulse Remains

A reflection on the quiet strength we never ask for

There are seasons in life when everything feels reduced to ash. Not because we have failed, not because we are weak, but because life has asked more of us than anyone should ever have to give. This poem was born from those quiet places — the places no one sees, the places we carry alone. It speaks to that small, hidden pulse inside us: not the fire that roars, not the hope people talk about in easy language, but the steady, stubborn beat that continues even when we feel emptied out. Sometimes we walk through life with the weight of old versions of ourselves clinging to us. Shadows of who we used to be. Dreams we almost lived. Names we once answered to. We think we should have outgrown them, moved past them, shed them like old skin. But the truth is simpler and harder: we are shaped by everything we’ve survived, and the past does not vanish — it settles into us. This poem is an invitation to stop pretending that healing requires brightness. Sometimes healing is slow. Sometimes it doesn’t look like healing at all. Sometimes it looks like dragging one more breath through a night that doesn’t seem to end. And still — beneath all that — there is a pulse. A quiet courage. A warmth that doesn’t ask to be seen. A fire that remains unextinguished, even when the world mistakes it for smoke. If you feel tired, if you feel worn, if you feel like life has reduced you to small embers, remember this: You have survived every night so far. You are the pulse. And the pulse remains because it knows something your mind forgets: You are not done. Let this piece meet you where you are, whether in ash, or in the slow return of light. And take one soft step forward. The ember will go with you.
