I have little to say of poetry, save this:

The poet is bound by his verse, with only the divine reigning supreme above him!

Truth Does Not Thunder

Truth Does Not Thunder

by Al Konda

I didn’t write this poem to explain anything.

I wrote it because I felt the pressure of something that refused spectacle — a truth that would not shout, would not rise to a peak, would not make itself easy to admire.

Truth Does Not Thunder comes from that tension.

We live in a world that loves declarations. Loud certainty. Clean answers. But some of the truest things I’ve learned never arrived that way. They came as warmth without flame, as pressure without grasp, as silence that kept working long after words stopped.

There’s a line in this poem that cost me something to keep:

I do not mend what I ignite, nor save what I depart—

It admits a limit. It refuses innocence. To bring light is also to expose. To begin something is not the same as being able to finish it. I wanted the poem to tell the truth about that — without apology, without drama.

What I trust most now are the smaller lights. The ones that stay lit without permission. A candle against a larger star. A human heart holding more than it should, and still choosing to care.

Belonging, in this poem, isn’t vast or triumphant. It’s fragile. Shared. Maintained. It exists because someone keeps showing up quietly, without banners or proof.

This poem doesn’t promise clarity.

It offers posture.

A way of standing with truth without turning it into thunder.
