The Real Poetical Life Story

BLOGGER

I have little to say of poetry, save this:

The poet is bound by his verse, with only the divine reigning supreme above him!

When Thunder Kneels

When Thunder Kneels

There are days when you feel something larger than yourself pressing against the edges of your breath.

Not anger.

Not fear.

Something older.

“When Thunder Kneels” was born from that pressure.

It is not a poem about war. It is not a hymn to force. It is a meditation on what happens when something immense enters the field of the human heart.

I have always believed that darkness is not erased by shouting at it. It is met. It is named. It is endured without surrendering shape.

The line that shaped the poem for me was this:

Not to erase the dark from out the sky,

But teach the hand to choose what it will be.

That is the center.

We cannot empty the sky of shadow. But we can decide what kind of hand we carry into it.

The poem does not end with triumph. It ends with composure.

Stand.

Let it pass through.

Do not become what you resist.

If thunder kneels, it does so not before destruction — but before steadiness.
