The Real Poetical Life Story

BLOGGER

I have little to say of poetry, save this:

The poet is bound by his verse, with only the divine reigning supreme above him!

The Room Without Her

The Room Without Her

A Quiet Study of Absence

There is something almost unsettling about how ordinary the world remains after someone leaves it.

The walls do not bow.

The chair does not splinter.

The air does not darken.

Everything stays in place.

And that is what makes absence so precise.

In this poem, there is no dramatic grief. No raised voice. No collapse. The wound has already passed its fever. What remains is not anguish—it is clarity.

He does not speak her name.

Not out of fear. Not out of bitterness. But because the room would not respond. And sometimes silence is not emptiness—it is confirmation.

Once, her presence changed the room. Breath warmed the air differently. Shared stillness made even simple light feel intentional. Love does not merely live inside walls—it bends them in subtle ways.

But when that presence is gone, proportion returns.

The tea cools. A silver film forms. The clock keeps time without concern. The stars, somewhere beyond the roof, continue their ancient obedience.

Nothing conspires with private loss.

And yet something changes.

Love, when it can no longer move outward, does not simply vanish. It settles inward. It stops asking. It stops reaching. It reshapes itself into endurance.

Not memory.

Not plea.

Not prayer.

But form.

There is no softness in that ending. But there is strength. A strength that does not advertise itself. A strength that simply stands.

Sometimes healing is not warmth returning.

Sometimes it is learning how to live in a room that has resumed being only a room.
